About The Role
The National Fitness Centre Manager is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of fitness and pool facilities across all national sites. This role ensures consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality services aligned with legislative requirements, Defence standards, and company policies.
Working in close partnership with regional and base-level operations teams, the National Fitness Centre Manager drives excellence in facility compliance, risk management, and legislative adherence. while ensuring an optimum experience for clients.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the fitness centre, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing member inquiries, resolving complaints, and implementing feedback systems.
- Demonstrate a strong focus on leadership, service excellence, stakeholder engagement, operational consistency, and develop a culture of safety and accountability across all centres.
- Ensure all fitness equipment is in good working order and the facility meets health and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and defence industry standards.
- Contribute to the organisation’s reputation as a trusted provider of fitness and aquatic services.
About You
- Tertiary Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Relevant fitness certifications such as Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Group Fitness Instructor (GFI), or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is advantageous.
- First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
