An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Physiotherapist with experience in Aged Care to join our Residential Care Services team in Mareeba, QLD. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a real difference in the lives of clients while gaining flexible, hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.
- Start Date: 2nd March
- Duration: Min 3 months (looking for ongoing support, option to turning into a Part-Time role)
- Workload: 1 to 2 days per week (availability Monday – Friday required)
- Location: Travel to Mareeba supported
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver clinical care to clients
- Communicate with residents, families, nursing staff, medical practitioners, allied health practitioners, case managers, and equipment suppliers
- Prescribe and review exercises, including leading exercise groups
- Collaborate with the broader clinical team and facility management to deliver tailored care
- Manage daily schedules effectively, including clinical and non-clinical tasks
- Participate in professional development and mentoring opportunities
- Deliver education sessions such as falls prevention and manual handling to staff
Qualifications & Skills:
- AHPRA General Registration
- Clinical skills to perform assessments, treatment, risk assessments, and mentor junior therapists
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
- Appropriate working visas, National Police Certificate, and NDIS/Working with Children Check
