Our vibrant Allied Health team includes six fantastic professions working right on-site: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, and Social Work. They work together seamlessly, supported by our helpful Allied Health Assistants, to provide a wide range of generalist services that focus on you.
About the role:
As an Allied Health Assistant, you'll be an essential part of our fantastic Banana Allied Health Team, supporting patient care with your skills and enthusiasm. Working under the guidance of our talented Allied Health Professionals, you'll help deliver high-quality services to our Central Queensland community, whether in hospital, outpatient clinics, or community settings.
In this role, you'll carry out clinical screening assessments within your scope, following guidelines to ensure each patient receives the right care. You will help with treatments prescribed by our Allied Health professionals and may even make small adjustments based on assessment results. You'll share helpful information and tips with patients or groups, making their health journey more positive and engaging.
You will also lead group treatment sessions alongside more experienced team members, providing valuable feedback and encouragement. Collaborating with healthcare providers within your team is crucial, and you'll help ensure seamless, patient-centred care. You will also prepare and maintain clinical spaces, equipment and supplies, keeping everything organized and ready for use.
About you:
- While it's not mandatory, having a relevant qualification like a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or something similar would definitely be a big plus.
- You've got a good handle on how the healthcare system works, and you're comfortable using computers, medical terminology. You know how to put your knowledge into action to help patients feel cared for and supported.
- You're an effective communicator who loves working as part of a team and are great at working with others.
- Most importantly, you're confident in your ability to carry out assessments and treatments as prescribed by our Allied Health professionals. You're ready to jump in, learn, and grow with us!
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $49,277 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $34.53 - $36.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
