Flow Athletic is seeking an experienced fitness industry leader ready to take the next step in their career.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of Sydney’s leading boutique fitness and personal training centres in a hybrid leadership role that combines people management, coaching development, business performance, and hands-on personal training.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, genuinely loves coaching people, and is ready to help lead and develop a strong team of trainers inside an established premium fitness brand.
This is not a desk-based management role.
You’ll lead from the floor, build culture, drive accountability, mentor coaches, and continue working directly with clients through a smaller personal training roster.
About The Role
This is a full-time position working across a rotating roster between 5am and 7pm, Monday to Sunday, averaging 38 hours per week.
The role is split approximately:
- 60% Coaching & Team Leadership
- 40% Personal Training
You will complete approximately 10–15 hours of personal training sessions per week while overseeing the performance, development, and culture of the Flow Athletic personal training team.
You’ll report directly to the General Manager and Owner Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop the personal training team
- Drive high standards in coaching, professionalism, service, and member experience
- Recruit, onboard, and support new personal trainers
- Conduct regular team one-on-ones and performance reviews
- Foster accountability, retention, and team growth
- Support the ongoing development of team culture and coaching standards
- Own overall PT team occupancy and retention
- Help drive the continued growth and performance of the coaching department
Coaching & Client Experience
- Deliver exceptional personal training sessions
- Build strong client relationships and long-term member outcomes
- Lead by example through energy, professionalism, and presence on the gym floor
- Contribute to a premium coaching and member experience
KPIs & Performance Measures
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Personal coaching performance and completed PT sessions
- Overall performance and occupancy of the PT team
- Team retention and coaching standards
- Completion and effectiveness of team one-on-ones
- Contribution to team culture, leadership, and service delivery
About You

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Personal Trainer
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience within the fitness industry
- Strong coaching and relationship-building skills
- Experience working within a premium fitness environment
- Cert III & IV in Fitness
Desirable
- Experience managing or mentoring personal trainers
- Sales and customer service experience
- Experience using MindBody, Trainerize, and Technogym systems
