About The Role
ALS Water is seeking a Field Sampler to join the team! This is a great role if you enjoy variety in your day and being hands on visiting our clients’ sites to collect samples in an efficient and timely manner.
Given this role will be working outdoors, please note this will include all weather conditions – rain or shine! You will also need to be confident working independently, yet you’ll be supported by a wider team.
The shift hours will be approx. 30 hours per week,
Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with some flexibility.
The Day to Day:
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
- Sampling of client sites in accordance with client requirements, including on-site field analyses where applicable.
- Ensuring the appropriate sampling equipment and approved methodology is used to provide a quality service to the clients.
- Optimising turnaround times for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of sampling protocol is achieved and maintained.
- Understanding methodology changes that affect the operations of sampling.
- Ensuring the sampling equipment and vehicle provided are kept correctly maintained as well as clean and tidy.
- Maintaining client relations, scheduling and maintaining sampling times of clients.
- Maintaining an appearance both personally and reflected in equipment presentation, in accordance with the quality requirements of ALS.
- Prioritizing of samples upon arrival to the laboratory.
- Sorting of samples and delivery to labs.
- Results entry in LIMS
- Sample bottle preparation.
- Maintain equipment used for conducting analyses, including cleaning and calibration.

- Confidence in working around water and ability to swim.
- Knowledge of the operation of small water supplies and treatment plants is desirable.
- Driver’s License and confident automatic driving ability
