About:
Voyager Tennis is one of Australia's leading managed tennis facility operators — a business built on a passion for the game, a relentless commitment to quality, and a values-led culture where excellence is the standard. As we grow our national footprint, we are building a leadership team that can scale with us. This is one of the most important operational hires we've made.
The Opportunity:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the seamless day-to-day performance of Voyager Tennis. This is a broad, senior leadership role spanning four pillars: Human Resources, Stock & Procurement, Work Health Safety & Safeguarding, and Pro Shop & Facilities Management.
You'll set the people and operational standards for the organisation — and hold the team to them. You'll be the go-to for complex HR escalations, the driver of our facilities programme, the champion of our safety and safeguarding obligations, and the strategist moving us towards smarter, automated venue operations.
This is a role for someone who is confident, decisive, and genuinely motivated by operational excellence. You'll work closely with senior leadership, manage relationships with councils, contractors, and suppliers, and play a central role in the organisation's growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources
• Set and maintain HR policies, procedures, and standards across all venues — ensuring they are compliant, current, and consistently applied
• Manage key HR escalations including performance management, employee relations, and terminations in conjunction with senior leadership
• Oversee the visa sponsorship process for all international employees, liaising with immigration agents to ensure compliance
• Drive the annual performance review cycle across the organisation — on time, documented, and meaningful
• Maintain employee records on the IntelliHR platform and ensure statutory compliance (WWCC, police checks, First Aid certifications)
• Lead and continuously improve the new employee induction experience
Stock Control & Supplier Management
• Oversee stock control for all equipment and supplies across the business, ensuring stock levels are maintained and accurately recorded
• Serve as the key supplier contact for Voyager Tennis — building strong relationships that deliver commercial value
• Negotiate pricing and agreements to maximise value for the organisation
• Approve or execute all equipment ordering, ensuring purchases are cost-effective and properly authorised
Work Health, Safety & Safeguarding
• Maintain oversight of WHS across all venues — including incident logging, hazard identification, risk registers, and periodic safety checks
• Conduct site safety assessments prior to capital works commencing, ensuring all relevant parties (council, staff, customers) are notified
• Act as Voyager's lead contact for child safeguarding matters — managing incidents, delivering training, and ensuring policy compliance
• Ensure 100% of staff working with children hold current, valid Working With Children Checks
Pro Shop Operations & Facilities Management
• Drive the strategic transition towards automated, self-service solutions — vending machines, booking-coded gates, and unmanned access — to reduce staffing costs and improve the customer experience
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance contractors across all venues, ensuring service standards are consistently met
• Conduct periodic facility audits at each venue, set presentation standards, and follow up to ensure all issues are resolved
• Act as the primary internal escalation point for facility-related issues across the organisation
What are we looking for?
• Proven experience in an operations management or general management role, ideally across multi-site environments
• Demonstrated HR management experience — including complex ER, performance management, and visa/immigration processes
• Strong WHS knowledge, with experience applying compliance frameworks across physical venues
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and procurement processes
• Highly organised, with the ability to juggle a diverse portfolio of responsibilities without dropping the ball
• Exceptional communication skills — comfortable engaging with councils, contractors, senior leadership, and frontline staff
• An uncompromising commitment to child safeguarding and a values-driven approach to leadership
• Experience in sport, leisure, hospitality, or venue management is highly regarded.

• The opportunity to build something — systems, frameworks, and a team that lasts
