We're Jemma and Dan, the husband-and-wife team behind Bed. We opened the studio because we wanted a Reformer space that felt the way a good local café feels: warm, easy to be in, somewhere people are genuinely glad they showed up.
It's going well, and we would love to grow it. Over the next few years, we want to open more studios around Geelong and beyond.
Before we do, we want to get the most important hire right: the person who helps us run this one and shape what comes next.
We're after someone who wants to make a career out of Pilates and stay with it for the long haul. For the person who turns out to be right, there's equity on the table in time. We genuinely want to share what we build with whoever helps us build it.
Ideally, you are also an experienced reformer pilates instructor, but it is not a deal-breaker. We are open to someone who is truly passionate about the role with transferable experience.
Ultimately, we're after someone organised who gets on with things without waiting to be asked, who members and the team both warm to, and who wants this to be their career.
Here's what the role involves:
Working with our Head Trainer to mentor our instructors and shape the programming behind the Bed Method. Our training runs in six-week blocks, so there's real thinking behind every class (if you bring Reformer experience).
Looking after members from their first class onward: onboarding the new ones, checking in as they go, and continuing to grow our client base.
Running our social club and the events that make Bed feel like a community.
Contributing to our social media, social club updates, stories and aligned content.
Pitching in on marketing and growth.
Writing down and tidying up how we do things, so the studio runs smoothly, and the next one has a blueprint to follow.
Teaching around ~12 hours a week on the Reformer (if you bring Reformer experience, of course).
You'd work closely with Dan day-to-day in the short term (whilst Jemma is on maternity leave). As Bed grows, the role grows too. You'd start by running this studio, and as we open new ones, you'd help launch and lead them too.
What we can offer:
Competitive base salary plus super
Uncapped bonus structure that rewards studio growth
A development budget, and we'll go halves with you on the certifications you want to do
A yearly pay review
A real path to equity and to leading new studios as Bed grows
Set hours, your own desk at the studio, and a calm place to spend your week in Newtown
We are open to full-time or part-time for the right person.
If that sounds like you, email us at ******@bedpilates.com and tell us about yourself. Why Pilates, what you've done so far, and where you'd like to take it.
We read every application, and we'd rather take our time to find the perfect fit for this role than rush it.
