SCHOOL BASED TRAINEE – GYM INSTRUCTOR
Are you a year 10 student (heading into Year 11 in 2026) who is passionate about health and fitness and ready to get a head start on your future? Council’s School Based Traineeships are a great way to gain real-world work experience while you’re still at school!
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and reliable high school student to join our team as a Gym Instructor Trainee. This is your chance to earn a nationally recognised qualification while gaining valuable, hands-on industry experience.

What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in keeping the gym safe and equipment well-maintained
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service
- Support and supervise patrons during gym sessions and programs
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the team

Remuneration
In accordance with clause 32D of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
To Be Successful In This Position
- Be a current high school student commencing year 11 in 2026,
- Have strong communication and organisational skills
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Be reliable and able to manage school and work commitments
