Retail Client Service Associate
Location - Sydney or Melbourne
Full-time | Reports to: National Research Manager

Within our Customer Division—which brings together Distribution, Marketing, and Research—you’ll find a collaborative team focused on delivering best-in-class support to our retail clients and research partners.
We are currently seeking a Retail Client Service Associate to join our Research team, which sits within the broader Retail Distribution function. This position has become available due to an internal promotion, reflecting both the importance of the role and the strong career pathways available at Challenger.
We offer a flexible hybrid working model based out of our CBD offices (Martin Place or Collins Street) — typically 3 days in-office and 2 days from home.
The Opportunity
As a Retail Client Service Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the Customer Division’s objectives by ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery of client information. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders—including boutiques, ESG specialists, Compliance, IT, Operations and data teams—as well as external clients across the retail landscape.
This role suits someone who is organised, curious, and confident working with data, reporting, deadlines and structured client requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Retail Client Service Manager (CSM) to prioritise workflow and deliver high-quality responses to RFIs and RFPs.
- Complete Research House pre-review tasks, including portal updates and RFI submissions.
- Provide ad-hoc client servicing support, manage quantitative and qualitative information requests from retail clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Produce regular client reporting in line with required deadlines and portfolio requirements.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Strategic Account Associates to streamline information sharing and support client queries.
- Collaborate with Investment Analytics team to ensure data requirements are met and troubleshoot data errors.
- Liaise with affiliates, ESG specialists, and other internal teams to gather and verify data.
- Assist in improving processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of the retail client service function.
- Maintain key documents including investment staff spreadsheets and FSC materials.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum three years in financial services with a good understanding of investment products. You’ll be highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines, as well as;
- Strong Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data organisation) and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Word
- Comfortable using research portals, CRM systems, or similar tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly in data handling and documentation
- A proactive approach to problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency and continuous improvement
- Awareness of compliance requirements and commitment to accuracy in client servicing
