Position Summary
The Spa Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining spa policies, systems, and procedures, and for managing The Spa on a day-to-day operational basis. Successful management will include meeting budget targets, developing a strong image and reputation in the community, the team’s effectiveness and responsiveness to the members and guests needs. There will be further responsibility for the hotel's gymnasium and activities in line with future developments.
The Spa Manager creates Spa menus and a tasteful environment, is aware of current market trends and can sell Spa Retail creatively and successfully.
The Role
- Provide inspirational leadership aligned with Capella brand values and vision.
- Overseeing daily Gym, Spa & Wellness operations.
- Ensure compliance with service standards, policies and operating procedures.
- Maintain workplace safety, security and hygiene standards.
- Manage guest feedback, resolve service issues promptly and record outcomes appropriately.
- Lead daily briefings and reinforce service culture and Forbes standards.
- Monitor departmental expenses and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering and PAR level management.
- Coordinate VIP and special guest preferences to ensure personalised experiences.
- Drive team training, development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop promotional ideas and enhance Spa & Wellness offerings to maximise revenue.
- Foster strong interdepartmental collaboration and communication.
- Mentor and engage team members to support performance, wellbeing and career growth.
- Manage rostering and payroll in line with business levels and forecast demand.
- Ensure professional presentation, service excellence and compliance with hotel policies and local legislation.
Talent Profile
- At least 3 years of experience in a luxury spa or similar field.
- Have good knowledge of the spa industry.
- Client focus and oriented.
- Experiences in a similar role in luxury hotels/resorts or the hospitality sector are preferred.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Valid working rights in Australia.
