An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Dental Technician to join the Oral Health Services Team at the Bundaberg Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.
Your Opportunity:
- As a Dental Technician practitioner, you are to perform more complex and diverse technical tasks including orthodontics with minimal supervision in the provision of quality technical oral health services to clients of Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service and:
- Undertake a broad range of more complex technical procedures at a competent level with minimal direct supervision.
- Provide dental technology services as required within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in dental technology including experience in orthodontics.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate within a multidisciplinary team consisting of one or more technical domains providing technical support to the Oral Health team, together with advice/feedback to and from peers and managers.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work to meet daily requirements and assist in the development of more junior staff by mentoring and guidance in procedures and practices of the relevant domain.
- Knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, in particular Public Sector Guidelines, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal opportunity, and anti-discrimination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mandatory possession of a qualification in Dental Technology or equivalent from a registered tertiary institution.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Previous experience in acrylic prostheses, orthodontics or cobalt chrome construction is highly desirable.

Our offer: You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary between $79,051 - $116,189 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
