Assessment and Intervention Australia (AXIA) is a small behaviour support team based across Sydney. We are currently seeking a new behaviour support practitioner to work with us in the Northern Sydney/Northern Beaches areas.
Feedback from our participants, families, and stakeholders indicates that they value our responsiveness, our understanding of individuals and their circumstances, and our resilience, drive, and perseverance. Our values are driven by doing the best for people and getting great outcomes for participants. Our team has extensive experience working in the disability services sector; everyone on our team has worked as a support worker. Our team also has experience as service managers in SIL and community participation programs, as other allied health professionals (Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy) both in government and non-governmental roles.
We provide all our staff with regular supervision, professional development opportunities (both within the organisation and from external sources). We provide regular group and peer supervision to all our staff.
We are committed to providing our practitioners with manageable caseloads to ensure practitioners can deliver high-quality behaviour support to participants and their families. We provide direct support to all our team to help manage funding and allocations and get the best outcomes for people. We want our clinicians out in the community working with their people, families, teams and providers.

We are looking for people who have experience as behaviour support practitioners, or are new to the role. Some requirements include:
- Be a registered behaviour support practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Hold a valid NSW licence
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)
- Have experience as a support worker or lived experience in the disability sector
- Be curious, engaged and genuine in the work you do
- Be adaptive to change
- Be committed to ongoing improvement and lifelong learning
- Be an advocate for participants, families, services and systems to get positive outcomes
