GENERAL MANAGER OF UP EDU - PILATES COURSES

Through its Education division (UP Edu), Universal Practice operates Australia's only Australian Physiotherapy Council-accredited Clinical Mat & Reformer Pilates Course — a rigorous, evidence-based program designed specifically for physiotherapists and health professionals.

Applicant can be based in Melbourne or Gold Coast, Australia.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The General Manager — UP Edu is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth, commercial performance, and operational excellence of the Universal Practice Education division. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial position suited to someone who can think strategically, execute practically, and build something meaningful.
Working 1–2 days per week, the GM will take full ownership of the UP Edu P&L, with a mandate to grow student enrolments, expand course delivery, increase brand awareness, and establish UP Edu as the premier clinical Pilates training provider in Australia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Growth & Commercial Performance
– Own and manage the UP Edu P&L, with full accountability for revenue, margin, and profitability
– Develop and execute a growth strategy to increase student acquisition and course enrolments
– Set and track KPIs across revenue, enrolments, brand reach, and student satisfaction
– Identify and pursue new revenue streams within the education and professional development space
Course Delivery & Operations
– Organise, schedule, and oversee the delivery of clinical Pilates courses in Melbourne
– Plan and execute the expansion of course delivery to interstate locations
– Manage logistics for in-studio practical intensives, including venue, faculty, and student experience
– Oversee the UP Edu Portal and course materials, ensuring content remains current and high quality
– Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Physiotherapy Council accreditation requirements
Marketing & Student Acquisition
– Develop and implement a marketing strategy to raise awareness among physiotherapists and allied
health professionals
– Manage digital channels including social media, email marketing, and the UP Edu website
– Build referral and partnership networks with practices, universities, and professional associations
– Drive conversion through targeted campaigns, early bird promotions, and community engagement
Stakeholder & Partner Relationships
– Build and maintain relationships with industry bodies, educators, and health professional networks
– Represent UP Edu at industry events, conferences, and professional development forums
– Work closely with the clinical and operational team to ensure alignment between the education and
practice brands
ABOUT YOU
You are an entrepreneurial, commercially minded leader who thrives in a growth environment. You
combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and you are comfortable owning a P&L and building something from the ground up. You may come from a health, education, or business background — what matters most is your drive, your commercial acumen, and your ability to get things done.
You will bring:
– Proven experience in a business development, general management, or commercial leadership role
– A track record of driving growth — in enrolments, revenue, or customer acquisition
– Strong marketing and digital skills, with experience running campaigns that convert
– Experience managing or launching a P&L or standalone business unit
– Excellent organisation and project management skills
– Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
– A genuine interest in health, wellness, or professional development — experience in physiotherapy
or allied health, education or course development is an advantage, but not essential
