Responsibilities

- To teach, train and prepare students for swimming activities based on class schedules.
- Plan and effectively organize class time and lesson plans
- Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
- Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
- Identify students’ ability and encourage them to reach their full potential
- Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
- Teach Physical Education and swimming under the curriculum of quality sport activities
- Record and report on the development, progress and attainment of children including initiating meeting with parents to discuss attainment and progress
- Keep a disciplined class whilst promoting the general well-being of children.
- Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement
- Provide for consistency in instruction by working each assigned period
- Perform other tasks assigned by the school principal.
