Responsibilities :
Aquatic Safety & Open-Water Lifeguarding
- Maintain vigilant surveillance in ocean, lagoon, and open-water environments.
- Lifeguard assigned open-water stations, water slides, and aquatic play areas.
- Perform rescues in open-water environments as trained, including surf, current, deep water, and varying visibility.
- Assist with Personal Watercraft (PWC) rescue operations as trained.
- Initiate rescues from elevated lifeguard towers when required.
- Execute lifeguard skills in accordance with Disney Cruise Line standards.
- Maintain certification requirements and readiness expectations.
- Participate in practice drills, skills audits, and receive performance evaluations.
- Conduct pre-opening swim checks of swim zones, buoy lines, water slide areas, and lagoon environments.
- Use rescue and emergency medical equipment as trained, including AEDs and supplemental oxygen.
- Respond to aquatic and medical incidents as part of island emergency operations.
Training, Readiness & Team Culture
- Attend required training and in-service sessions to maintain skills and certifications.
- Maintain physical fitness appropriate for open-water lifeguarding duties.

In-Water & Underwater Support
- Perform underwater inspections and retrieve lost items; report hazards or obstructions and support the setup, inspection, and cleaning of swim zones and water slide attractions.
Beach & Guest Area Operations
- Prepare, maintain, and clean beach areas including loungers, umbrellas, walkways, and lifeguard towers.
- Support beach grooming operations using tools and equipment as trained.
- Assist with daily island opening and closing procedures.
- Provide guest assistance, answer questions, and deliver Disney service standards.
Recreation & Equipment Support
- Assist with recreational rentals such as bikes, snorkel gear, floats, kayaks, and small watercraft.
- Clean, sanitize, inspect, and maintain recreation equipment.
- Report equipment concerns and assist with basic upkeep as trained.
Island Operations Support
- Support daily operational readiness and island activities.
- Assist with weather procedures, clearing and securing guest areas during closures, and supporting guest movement as needed.
- Support emergency operations and cross-team communication as needed.
- Assisting with non-aquatic recreation and beach-related activities.
- Supporting guest flow, wayfinding, and crowd management in designated areas.
- Assisting overall operational teams during peak periods or special events.
- Participating in general island readiness, cleanliness, and safety support.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support overall island operations.
Basic Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in The Bahamas.
- Minimum six months of recent lifeguarding experience.
- Ability to pass a pre-hire swim test and successfully complete lifeguard certification training, as well as Aquatic Rescue Professional certification.
- Ability to detect and respond to noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment.
- Ability to observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
- Ability to pass a vision screening with at least 20/25 vision.
- High level of fitness including strong swimming abilities.
- Good computer skills and operational knowledge.

- Competitive swim team and/or water sports experience.
- Previous experience with boats, snorkel equipment, or other recreational equipment.
- Open water diver and diving rescue certification.

This role is based on Disney’s private island in The Bahamas.
Applicants must:
- Be willing to live and work on a private island.
- Be willing to perform safety roles and emergency duties.
- Uphold Safety Management System responsibilities.
- Follow USPH and environmental guidelines.
- Share a cabin with other crew members.
- Be comfortable living in a structured environment with specific rules.
Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and obtain necessary visas.
- Have authorization to work in The Bahamas.
- Obtain a criminal background check.
- Bring approved work shoes.
- Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
