As a Member Of The Safety, Wellbeing And Injury Management (SWIM) Team, Northern Service Area You Will Contribute To The Department’s Commitment To Providing And Maintaining a Safe, Healthy And Supportive Work Environment At All Times Through
- Provision of education, advice and assistance ensuring compliance across the department’s nine core SWIM functions:
- Governance and Consultation
- Risk management
- Planning and development
- Education and awareness
- Hazard and incident management
- Assessments and inspections
- Injury management
- Employee support and wellbeing
- Performance reporting
- Service Area based role with access to central SWIM function support and professional advice.
Responsibilities
As an Advisor you will work within the legislative framework of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 key responsibilities of this role including:
- Assist local management and staff in workplace rehabilitation, case management and availability of employee assistance and support services and investigate specific claims (statutory claims, common law claims)
- Provide local management and staff SWIM incident and injury trends and analysis and performance reports on a regular basis.
- Support local management in the investigation of specific incidents (critical and/or workplace incidents and injuries)
- Support local management with annual safety inspections, ongoing monitoring and reviewing of local workplaces and work practices, risk assessments and safety planning and identification of high-risk activities or issues
- Assist local management and staff establish and maintain SWIM consultation and advisory groups in local offices to ensure SWIM matters are proactively monitored and addressed
- Assist local management in the needs analyse, planning and scheduling for the provision of SWIM specific education and awareness sessions undertaken at the workplace
- Recognising and contributing to the DSAS and SWIM Governance Structures, supporting quality outcomes for staff and clients through the delivery of quality services and continuous improvement.
Your Mandatory Requirements
- Whilst it is not mandatory, BSB41419 - Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety is highly desirable
- Open ‘C' class Australian driver's licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Travel within the service area will be required
