Our Rouse Hill club delivers a full ecosystem including gym facilities, group fitness, Pilates, martial arts, recovery services, and membership-based retail offerings.
We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager (General) to oversee the commercial, operational, and people performance of our Rouse Hill location. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for business operations, team leadership, customer experience, and sustainable revenue growth.
The Role
The Retail Manager (General) is responsible for the overall management and performance of the retail operation, ensuring the club operates efficiently, profitably, and in line with brand and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Business Management
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the health club in line with commercial objectives
- Ensure the retail operation is staffed, resourced, and structured to meet customer demand and business requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and service standards
- Monitor business performance against budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and operational targets
- Ensure compliance with WHS, employment legislation, and internal governance requirements
Commercial Performance & Revenue Management
- Oversee and optimise membership sales, retail product sales, and service upsells in line with business objectives
- Set and manage sales targets, conversion benchmarks, and retention metrics
- Analyse sales and financial data to identify trends and implement performance improvement strategies
- Support high-value sales conversations and business partnerships where required
Staff & People Management
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and manage a multi-disciplinary team
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and ongoing professional development
- Maintain high standards of accountability, professionalism, and customer service
- Resolve staffing, performance, and customer issues efficiently and professionally
Customer Experience & Brand Standards
- Oversee the end-to-end customer journey from enquiry through to long-term retention
- Manage escalated customer matters and ensure consistent, premium service delivery
- Uphold brand presentation, merchandising, and facility standards across the club
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a retail, fitness, hospitality, or service-based management role
- Proven experience managing staff, rosters, budgets, and operational performance
- Demonstrated experience overseeing sales performance and revenue outcomes
- Strong understanding of retail operations, customer service, and business planning
- Ability to analyse financial and sales data and implement improvement strategies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience in the health, fitness, wellness, or membership-based industry
- Track record of improving commercial performance and team outcomes
- Experience managing a business unit with multiple revenue streams
- Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Management, or a related field

This is a genuine full-time, ongoing position aligned with the skill and responsibility level of a Retail Manager (General). The role requires hands-on leadership across operations, people management, and commercial performance.
