The Food Clinic is a Melbourne-based private dietetic practice established in 2012 lead by experienced Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Denise Burbidge. The clinic provides evidence-based nutrition counselling and personalised dietary support for individuals across a range of health conditions and life stages. The practice operates from clinics in Heidelberg Heights and Essendon, VIC, with additional telehealth and phone consultation services available across Australia. We provide support with practical, realistic nutrition strategies tailored to each client’s medical needs, lifestyle, food preferences.
The team includes Accredited Practising Dietitians with expertise in areas such as diabetes education, gut health, food allergies and intolerances, renal health, and aged care nutrition. The clinic emphasises collaborative, client-centred care and ongoing support to help individuals achieve sustainable health outcomes through nutrition.
The Role
Opportunity to join our established practice to cover maternity leave existing clinic load with opportunity to build your own case load or clinical neiche. Clinic spans a variety of funding including private, Medicare, Defence, DVA, EAP and NDIS models. Generous appointment times, standard 60min initial, 30min review with option for extended consults for complex care needs. The role enables you to focus on dietetic clinical care with support of in-house supervision and reception supports and avoid the hassels of running your own practice. Must be available Tues/Wed to cover existing clinic workload. Role commencing June/July for twelve month cover and view to extend based on case load thereafter.
Responsibilities
Dietetic counselling and associated reporting for chronic disease management with mostly adult case load of mixed eitiologies.
Willingness to learn and collaborate within dietetic team
Collaborating with individual client medical & therapy teams
In person and telehealth consulting
Exceptional communication and time mangement skills
Qualifications
APD
Willing to obtain Medicare Provider Number
Satisfactory Police Check and WWC
Minimum 2 years post graduate clinical experience
Desirable
FODMAP Certified
Previous expereince with Type 1 diabetes and diabetes technologies
Other dietetic speciality e.g paediatrics
Previous experience in Medicare Chronic Disease Management and NDIS funding
Knoweldge & experence with Halaxy and telehealth consulting platforms
