Willoughby Leisure Centre is entering an exciting new chapter with the upcoming opening of its fully transformed leisure and aquatic facility.
We are seeking
Casual Lifeguards to help keep our pools safe, welcoming and enjoyable for all visitors. You will supervise pool areas, support customers, promote water safety, and respond to emergencies in line with Centre policies and procedures.
We are offering supported training to help you obtain, renew, or upgrade the required qualifications. As you start your career, you’ll be supported to learn, develop your skills, and gain experience in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

About The Role
As a
Casual Lifeguard, you will:
- Supervise pool areas and support safe use of facilities.
- Respond to incidents, assist with rescues, and provide first aid (with training and supervision).
- Follow procedures and emergency plans to support safe pool operations.
- Engage with patrons, promote positive behaviour, and support rule compliance.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining a safe and presentable facility.
- Report hazards, incidents and maintenance issues to senior staff.
- Support programs, events, and daily operations, including setup and pack-down.
- Assist with basic documentation and incident reporting.
- Work as part of a team, supporting senior staff and following instructions.
- Communicate with staff and patrons to help deliver a positive experience.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong observation, organisation and planning skills.
- Good communication skills and commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including resolving minor issues with patrons and staff.
- Experience or aptitude to work in customer focused service environments.
- Willingness and capability to obtain Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate including CPR and First Aid.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
