We are seeking
Casual Learn to Swim Instructors to join Willoughby Leisure Centre as it opens following a major transformation. The Centre features new pools and dedicated learn-to-swim spaces, creating a modern and welcoming place for the community to learn and enjoy swimming.
In this role, you will deliver safe and fun learn to swim lessons in line with the Willoughby Leisure Swim School teaching guidelines. You’ll help build confidence in the water, support positive experiences for swimmers of all ages, and develop the skills to teach swimming and water safety.
We are offering supported training to help you obtain, renew, or upgrade the required qualifications. As you start your career, you’ll be supported to learn, develop your skills, and gain experience in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

About The Role
As a
Casual Learn to Swim Instructor, you will:
- Deliver safe and engaging learn-to-swim lessons in line with Swim School guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures and respond to risks, hazards, and emergencies when needed.
- Adapt lessons to suit different ages, abilities, and learning needs.
- Track and record participant progress.
- Set up, use, and pack down equipment safely.
- Communicate with participants, parents, and staff to support a positive experience.
- Keep the teaching area clean, safe, and organised.
- Take part in training and team meetings to build your skills and maintain qualifications.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently with small groups of children and/or adults.
- Knowledge of Learn to Swim classes and ability to instruct a range of ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to a minimum 3-month period and reasonable availability.
- Willingness and capability to obtain Australian Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (funded training available).
- Willingness and capability to obtain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (funded training available).
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
